United Crate Racing Alliance officials are hard at work finalizing their plans for the 2017 season. Already added to the schedule include one returning and one new facility for the third year Crate Late Model specialist.

Chattanooga’s Boyd’s Speedway is returning to the tour after a years absence, while Crossville’s premiere plateau facility between Knoxville and Nashville off I-40 joins the UCRA banner.

The season will kick-off at Tim and Angie Kyle’s I-75 Raceway facility in Sweetwater, Tn. with the “Spring-Loaded 40” paying the standard $2,500 to-WIN / $200 to-START payout.

Fort Payne (Motor Speedway) Alabama’s home-based track hosts race #2 on Friday May 12, while Boyd’s takes the following night, Saturday, May 13, for the series’ first weekend double header of 2017.

Smokey Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tn. returns with its first of three dates on Saturday, June 17, while Crossville and I-75 host Independence Weekend events June 30 and July 1.

Two other “to be announced dates” are being planned for Independence weekend to hopefully include Wartburg, Tn. who’s transitioning with a new owner for 2017.

Negotiations are still underway with the Fall season, much like last year as facility manager await Fall/Ball schedules to emerge. Follow the UCRA online at www.UCRAracing.com or on its Facebook page.
