HCDE Scholarship Deadline Extended Due To Threat Of Severe Weather

Due to the announcement from the Hamilton County Department of Education regarding the threat of severe weather and Hamilton County Schools closing two hours early on Wednesday, April 5, the Chattanooga Hamilton County Retired Teachers Association has extended the scholarship deadline to Wednesday, April 12.

 


The extension is offered to HCDE high school seniors and rising seniors at UT-Chattanooga who are applying for the Margaret Ferger Scholarship and the UTC Aspiring Educators Scholarship.  Both scholarships are sponsored by the Chattanooga Hamilton County Retired Teachers Association.  


The Margaret Ferger Scholarship, valued at $2,000 each, will be awarded to three graduating high school students currently attending a public high school in Hamilton County. 

 

The CHCRTA Scholarship for Aspiring Educators at UTC, valued at $1,000, will be awarded to a current UTC student who is a graduate of a public high school in Hamilton County. Qualifying applicants are approaching their final year in college and are majoring or minoring in education.
