Jimmie Abbott
Jimmie Loretta Abbott, 78, of LaFayette, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017, at Cornerstone Medical.
She was born on Feb. 2, 1939, in LaFayette to the late Shannon Kirk and Mae Barton Ponder. Prior to retirement, Jimmie worked as a machine operator for Queen Carpet.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Lamar Abbott; brother, John Kirk; and sister, Yvonne Willingham.
She is survived by her son, Terry (Vickie) Abbott of LaFayette; grandchildren, Brooke (Allen) Smith, Shannon Abbott, Jerome (Cindy) Templeton; great grandchildren, Hayden, Tanner, Logan, Sable; sisters, Maxine McAlister and Cathy (LaGary) Hewitt all of LaFayette; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. on Monday, June 12, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Thompson officiating.
Interment will be in LaFayette City Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jerome Templeton, John Kirk, A.J. Carroll, Tim McAlister, LaGary Hewitt, Lonnie Gilreath, and Allen Smith.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 5-8 p.m.
