Azalene McKeehan Teague
Azalene McKeehan Teague, 90, died July 8, 2017.
She was born December 7, 1926 and grew up on a farm in Kentucky where she learned the value of hard work. During WWII, she packed parachutes for soldiers at a factory in Detroit. She was an avid vegetable and flower gardener with late husband Elmer Teague. She retired from JC Penney after 30 years having worked Downtown, Highland Plaza and Northgate in the drapery department.
One of the original pioneers of recycling, repurposing and conservation she used everything and wasted nothing. She was a prime example of hard working, patriotic Americans of the Greatest Generation.
She is survived by children: Paula Thompson Guest, Chattanooga TN, Barry Teague (Elaine) Chattanooga TN, Karen Teague Monger (Ronald) Mocksville NC. Grandchildren: Adrienne Moyer (Chris) Chattanooga TN, Teague Monger (Tim Bunch) Raleigh NC and Charlie Monger Raleigh NC. Two sisters: Joy McCormick, Hendersonville TN and Wilma Faulkner, Williamsburg KY and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband James Elmer Teague Chattanooga TN; parents: Leander and Mamie Warfield McKeehan, brothers: Lowell McKeehan, Bill McKeehan, and son-in-law Bill Francis Guest and brothers-in-law Harold Faulkner and James McCormick.
Memorial services will be held July 14, 2017 at Northside Presbyterian Church at 3 p.m. Dr. Paul Rader officiating. Visitation will be held at the church starting at 2 p.m. prior to the service.
