Edwin Frank Lane, 87, of Chattanooga went to be with the Lord on December 26, 2018.

Born in Gage County, NE, Ed was a graduate of the University of Nebraska where he was a member of the wrestling team and placed second in the conference his senior year.  He loved his “Cornhuskers”. He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force serving as first lieutenant.

Ed was married for 63 years to the love of his life, Shirley Kendle Lane who preceded him in death in 2016. He looked forward to the day he would see her again with his Lord and Savior in heaven.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Dorine Renner.

Survivors are his sons, Daniel Robert (Mary) Lane, Maryville, TN, and  William Scot (Laura) Lane, Chattanooga; grandchildren, Sarah Lane (Scott) Paone,  Holly Lane, and Abby (Sam) Carmichael;  great-grandson, Elijah Paone.

Services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 30, at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Gary Armes and Dr. David Eubanks officiating. Graveside services will be held on Monday at 12:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
