J. B. Jones, 68, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018 at his Georgia residence.  

He was a 1967 graduate of Riverside High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. J.B. was formerly employed with TVA and Combustion.

He was preceded in death by his son, Leander Jones; grandson, Baby Azariah Perkins; father, Johnnie Jones; sisters, Betty Mathis, Johnnie Mae Young; and niece, Little Joejauna Young.

Survivors include his daughter, Lynetta (Antonio) Perkins; granddaughters; Desiraí Carr and Heavyn Perkins; grandson, Leander Perkins, all of Jacksonville, Fl.; mother, Effie Jones; brother, Lee (Veronica) Jones; sisters, Mattie Green, Willie Mae Graves, all of Chattanooga, and Vivian Sanders of Augusta, Ga.; uncles Ronald (Doris) Hull of Tampa, Fl., Stanley (Becky) Hull of Concord, Ca., and Glen (Beverly) Hull of San Francisco; aunts, Joyce Brown of San Francisco, and Gloria Lawrence of San Diego; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends.

Visitation is on Friday, April 20, from 11 a.m.-noon at Taylor Funeral Home with the memorial service to follow at noon in the chapel with Pastor Willie Kitchens as the eulogist.  

Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
