William "Bill" R. Greer, 78, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018.

A longtime resident of Chattanooga, he was the son of the late Grady and Rosalee Greer.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the Army Reserve after 30 years and served as a chaplain assistant. Mr. Greer retired from the Electric Power Board after 36 years of service and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors are his sister, Wanda (Paul) Wheeler, Chattanooga; niece, Gail (Larry) Van Fossen, Rossville; nephew, Scott (Mae) Dean, Cohutta, Ga.; several great-nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 15, at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Larry Van Fossen officiating. Burial will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Scott Dean, Chris Dean, Larry Van Fossen, Scott Van Fossen and Ethan Powell serving as pallbearers.
