DFCS Holds Foster Care Drive

  • Monday, August 6, 2018

Catoosa County Government will be partnering with the Chamber of Commerce, the City of Ringgold and the City of Fort Oglethorpe to host a DFCS Foster Care Drive until Sept. 13.

DFCS is in need of both item donations and financial contributions for children in Foster Care in Catoosa County. Examples of item donations that are needed include diapers, wipes, schools supplies, birthday presents, lice treatments, car seats, booster seats, clothing and toys. Foster care includes children from ages zero-17 and any donations appropriate for those ages are welcomed and appreciated. They will not be accepting used items.

Financial contributions can only be accepted at the Catoosa County Administration Building, 800 Lafayette St. in Ringgold. The minimum donation is $20. These contributions will directly benefit the foster children, paying for things such as school trips, sports fees and equipment, summer camps, eye glasses and dental work. They will be accepting cash and checks. Checks can be made out to Catoosa County Government.

The drop off locations for item donations are:  Catoosa County Administration Building, Catoosa County Library, Catoosa County Sheriff's Department, The Colonnade, Fort Oglethorpe City Hall and Ringgold City Hall.

Donators will be able to enter their name for a chance to win two tickets to Luke Bryan’s Farm Tour at Doug Yates Farm on Oct. 6. There is a sign-up sheet for entry to win at each of the drop off locations.  They will draw the winners on Sept. 13. Only one entry per person will be accepted.
