House Fire Displaces Family Of 5 Saturday Night

  • Saturday, January 12, 2019
Shortly after 9 p.m. on Saturday, Chattanooga firefighters were dispatched to a house fire at 1820 Foust Street.

Battalion Chief Ashley May said heavy flames were visible on the back porch when the first firefighters arrived on the scene.

Chief May said the flames were just beginning to get into the house, but the firefighters managed to extinguish the flames in roughly 20 minutes.
No injuries were reported. Due to damage to some of the wiring, the meter had to be pulled, so the family of five will have to stay elsewhere until repairs are made.

Chief May estimated the dollar loss at $20,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
