Ben T. "Junebaby" Hampton, Jr., 65, was welcomed to heaven on January 24, 2019.

He was born on Nov. 10, 1953.  Ben had a heart of love that no wall could contain. He was a high school graduate of Riverside High School, where he left to serve in the U.S. Army. He served and boxed in Germany, and was awarded National Defense Service Medal, Driver and Mechanic Badge, & Sharp Shooter Badge before his honorable discharge.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Mattie Hampton, Sr.; brother, Bryan Hampton.
Ben leaves to honor his memory: beloved child, Brenda “Tuff” Hampton Johnson; two grandchildren, LaDaisha and Lamuel Johnson, Jr.; two step-grandchildren, Talia Payne and Terrence Payne, Jr.; brother, Sylvester Hampton; sister, Thearest Alexander; sister-in-law, Cheryl Hampton, four nieces, seven nephews, six great-nieces; seven great-nephews; two great-great-nephews; a host of cousins, family, and friends.
 
The body will lie in state after noon on Thursday, Jan. 31, at the funeral home.
 
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, in the chapel. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
