Andrew Jackson
Andrew L. Jackson, Sr. was born March 1, 1915 in Glenn, Georgia. He departed this life on January 6, 2019, at the age of 103.
As owner of Jackson’s Service Station and Jackson Motors Used Cars for over 70 years, he made a positive difference in the city. He was married to Mrs. Christine Jackson for over 65 years was an inspiration to the Chattanooga community. He was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church and served in a variety of capacities for 50 years.
Mr. Jackson leaves behind him a life of memories to be shared by a sister, Lurline Smith; daughter, Anita (Paul) Delaney; sons, Andrew II (Rhonda), Christopher (Coreen); goddaughter, Barbara Ann (Wilbert); grandchildren, John Paul III, David, Drew, Christi, Joshua, Juleon, and Jemiah.
The body will lie in state after noon on Friday, Jan. 11, and family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Jan. 12, at Second Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Earnest Reid officiating and Pastor Christopher Jackson as eulogist.
