Cenobio Barrientos Chavez, age 83, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Nov. 16, 1936 in Zacatecas, Mexico, a son of the late Julio Barrientos and Dominga Chavez. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Faustino Barrientos; and sisters, Ines Barrientos and Margarita Barrientos.

He is survived by his sons, Baudelio Barrientos of Mexico, Julio Barrientos of Dalton, Ga., Efrain Barrientos of Mexico, Cenobio Barrientos Jr., Julian Barrientos of Iowa; daughters, Martha Barrientos of Mexico, Arasely Oroaco, Estela Ramirez, Grasiela Longoria, Cenaida Sosa, Berenice Barrientos of Dalton, Ga., Aurora Barrientos of Oklahoma; brother, Concepcion Barrientos; sisters, Lucina Barrientos, Ricarda Barrientos, Maria Barrientos, Manuela Barrientos, Catalina Barrientos; and 28 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Cenobio Barrientos will be held Friday, Oct. 25, at 1 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Preacher Joel Esparza officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, Oct. 24, from 5-9 p.m.
