Tommy Wilson
Thomas Terry “Tommy” Wilson, age 91, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019.
He was born in Chattanooga, Tn. on Sept. 24, 1929 to the late Thomas Wilson and Ellen Henderson Wilson and retired from City Hall of Chattanooga. He worked many years with Franklin & Strickland Funeral Home and was owner of Mr. T’s Confectionery Store and part owner of Memorial Mortuary. Tommy was known by many names; “Tommy” “T. I.” and “Chocolate Thunder.” He was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, a World War II Veteran of the United States Navy, and lastly employed at Habitat Humanity.
Survivors are his loving wife, Rosa Burnell Brown Wilson; son, Tommy Robinson; daughters, Viera Wilson, Vesta Havis, and Sabrina Martin; three grandchildren, Brandon Henry Whitney Wilson and Marcus Johnson; three step-daughters, Annette Brown, Jeanette Mack and Minister Sharon Hyter; two step-sons, Ronald Brown and Timothy Hyter; five step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, special friend, Aaron Elliott, other relatives, and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, Nov. 4, at noon at Highland Cemetery, with Elder Wilbert McClure officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, Nov. 3, from 4-6 p.m. at Hardwick Funeral Home located at 2521 Duncan Avenue, Chattanooga, Tennessee.
