Coleman, Melvina "Mae" (Decatur)

Melvina “Mae” Coleman, 63, of Decatur, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 3, 2019, at Erlanger Hospital.

She was a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church.  She loved race  cars, loved working with jewelry,  working puzzles, and her Little Dog Buttons.

She was preceded in death by her mother,  Daffine Lankford; brothers,  Bruce Jones and David Nelson; daughter,  Andrea Miller; special nephew,  Mark Howard; husband, Tommy Shaver.

Survivors include her husband of eighteen years,  Donald Coleman of Decatur; Brian Shaver of Decatur; step-sons Christopher Coleman of Etowah, Craig Coleman of Athens;  step-daughters, Manda Fiecher of Vonore, Candice Riotge of Etowah; sisters Rose (Lonnie) Thurman, Emma (Pete) Howard, Joan (Eddie) Rodrick all of Decatur; 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of good friends.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, at Bowers Funeral Home, 163 Arrants Road, Decatur, Tn. 37322. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation and will begin at 2 p.m. with Reverend Hugh Bryan and Reverend Michael Coleman officiating.

Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
