In partnership with the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga and Venture Forward, AFP Chattanooga will present An Evening with Vu Le: Power and the Nonprofit Sector, taking place at the Tennessee Aquarium on Oct. 16, featuring nationally-known nonprofit expert and speaker Vu Le for a night of thought-provoking ideas, conversation and networking.
Vu Le is a writer, speaker and the executive director of Rainier Valley Corps, a nonprofit in Seattle that promotes" social justice by developing leaders of color, strengthening organizations led by communities of color and fostering collaboration between diverse communities."
"Vu Le will explore the crucial role the nonprofit sector, including funders and donors, plays in our communities," officials said. "How do we equalize power between foundations and grantees, large white-led organizations and small communities-of-color-led ones, donors and service providers, and between individuals of different levels of privilege? How do we incorporate equity, diversity, and inclusion into our every-day work and strengthen our ability to collaborate to advance a just and vibrant world?"
Individual tickets are $50; tables for 8 are $320.
Each ticket includes a tour of the Tennessee Aquarium and one free drink ticket. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with networking and conversation, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and keynote at 7:15 p.m. Register online at
