Melissa Martin
Melissa Kimbro Martin, 59, of Chattanooga, passed away on November 16, 2019, with her husband and daughter by her side.
She is survived by her husband, Malcolm (Chip) Martin, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Tim and Lauren Smith; grandsons, Elijah and Jude Smith; parents, Bob and Judy Kimbro; sister and brother-in-law, Jamie and Amy Thomas; father-in-law, Malcolm Martin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joe Jackson and Joselin Martin; nieces, Caroline and Taylor Thomas and Maggie and Emily Jackson, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Joyce Rogers Martin.
Melissa’s family would like to acknowledge the excellent care she received during her battle with ALS. Renee Ledford, Deb Nicholas, and Amy Walker tirelessly worked to ensure her comfort and to guide the family during such a difficult time. Also, a special thank you goes to Dr. Roger Deversa, who became not only her doctor but a trusted friend. He went above and beyond the call of duty to provide guidance through many difficult decisions.
A drop-in reception to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 3-5 p.m. at the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club.
