Members of the community notified 911 Monday afternoon and helped get fire crews to a burning home on Bailey Avenue. It happened just before 5 p.m. in the 2400 block.

A passerby walking her dog called it in and there were several other reports received from vigilant citizens.

Chattanooga Police officers were first on the scene and checked to see if anyone was inside, but no one was home.

When firefighters arrived, flames were showing through the windows.
The firefighters entered through the front door and put the fire out.

There were no injuries.

Two people were displaced and the Red Cross was contacted to assist them.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
