Janet Hinds Was At Ringgold Restaurant Prior To Deadly Wreck In Hixson

  • Tuesday, February 26, 2019

Janet Hinds was at a Ringgold restaurant for three and a half hours on Saturday night prior to running over a city police officer on Hamill Road.

Hugh Harris, owner of the Farm to Fork Restaurant on General Lee Drive, said he has cooperated fully with DUI officers who showed up at the establishment early Sunday morning.

The restaurant has a bar separate from the regular dining area.

Mr. Harris said the entire visit by Ms. Hinds was captured on three cameras in the restaurant. He said that video has been turned over to police along with her $19.57 receipt.

Ms. Hinds, who is the postmaster of Soddy Daisy, ate dinner as well as having two beers and a small drink, it was stated.

Mr. Harris said, "Other customers have told me that she was fine when she left here."

The restaurant operator said he was putting out his own statement on social media, including offering condolences to both families involved. He said it was a tragedy for both sides.

Ms. Hinds is charged with vehicular homicide in the traffic death of officer Nicholas Galinger.

It happened on Hamill Road in Hixson shortly after 11 p.m.
