Dan Barker, author of the book "Mere Morality" and co-president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, will be the dinner guest of the Chattanooga Humanist Assembly on Sunday Feb. 24 at 5 p.m. at 3224 Navajo Dr. The monthly pot-luck dinner starts at 5 p.m. with remarks by Mr. Barker at 6 p.m. All freethinkers are invited.
On Monday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. in Dalton, Mr. Barker will give a talk on "The Battle Between Church and State" at Dalton State College. The event, organized by the Secular Student Alliance at Dalton State, will take place at the Brown Center, 105 (north side of campus).

Mr. Barker, a former minister and evangelist, became a freethinker in 1983, and is co-president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation and co-host of Freethought Radio. His books include Just Pretend: A Freethought Book for Children, Losing Faith in Faith: From Preacher To Atheist (1992), Godless (2008), The Good Atheist: Living a Purpose-Filled Life Without God (2011), Life-Driven Purpose: How an Atheist Finds Meaning (2015), GOD: The Most Unpleasant Character in All Fiction (2016), and the latest, Mere Morality (2018).
