As the Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center prepares for its July 5 Bricks of Honor Dedication Ceremony, the final opportunity to honor a veteran, organization or loved one a with a personalized brick is rapidly approaching. Orders must be placed by midnight on May 9 to ensure inclusion in this year’s ceremony.
Over the past five years, thousands of Bricks of Honor have been purchased and dedicated by businesses, individuals and families from across the country. Each brick is permanently placed in the Heritage Center’s plaza in downtown Chattanooga, leaving a lasting tribute in the community.
“Every brick tells a story,” said Kenny Turpen, director of development at the Heritage Center.
“Whether it honors a Medal of Honor recipient, a veteran, an organization or someone who simply embodies the values of courage, commitment and citizenship, it becomes part of our collective history. The Bricks of Honor program not only supports our mission, but also offers a meaningful way for families and communities to preserve a legacy.”
Bricks are available in three sizes: 4x8, 8x8 and 12x12 inches. Each brick is engraved with the honoree’s name and optional message, allowing for a personal and heartfelt tribute. All purchases support the Heritage Center’s educational initiatives and commitment to preserving the stories of Medal of Honor Recipients for future generations.
