James “Skeet” Leroy Crosby, Sr., 84, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019, in a local health care facility. 

He was a Korean War veteran of the United States Navy.  He retired from the Los Angeles County after working for more than 20 years. He was a member of Grace Baptist Tabernacle Church.  

James was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Crosby; parents, John and Clara Crosby; brother, John Enoch; sisters, Claudia Crosby, Bobbi Crosby, Willie Crosby, and Beulah May Crosby; sons, Jerry Crosby and Orlando Glenn; daughter, Dafrine Crosby; and grandson, Kyle Brooks.  

Survivors include his sons, James (Brenda) Crosby, Jr. of Long Beach, CA and Robert Glenn of Chattanooga; daughters, Celestine (Michael) Hawkins of Stone Mountain, GA, Felix (Dan) Brooks of Arlington, VA, Keely (David) Walker of Loganville, GA, Patricia (Gregory) Beck of Chattanooga, and Pamela Carter of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Gloria Crosby of Los Angeles, CA, Yvonne Castor, June Crosby, and Patricia Rancifer, all of Jackson, MS; 37 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and devoted friends. 

Visitation is on Sunday, June 23, from 6-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.  

Funeral services will be on Monday, June 24, at noon in the chapel with Pastor Jeffery Carter officiating and Pastor Marshall Robinson as the eulogist. 

Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
