As the angels sang, the Lord took Kenneth “Kenny” Gary Gibson by the hand to say it’s time to go home.  

Kenny, at the age of 66, went to heaven on Monday, August 19, 2019. He was a resident of Jasper, Tennessee and a well-respected young man of this community. Kenny was employed at U.S. Pipe as a fork lift operator until his retirement.

Kenny was a devoted man, son, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and best friend to all that knew him.  Kenny loved his mom, sons and especially his dog, Olive with all his heart. His hobbies included golfing, riding his motorcycle with family and friends, playing pool, and watching television. During his past time, he enjoyed watching the 49’ers and Steelers. For many years, Kenny served as head baseball coach for different leagues at the Jasper City Ballpark. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Jean Gibson.

Those left to cherish his memories are his sons, Wayne Gibson (Mallorie) and Blake Gibson (Nicole); brother, Mike Gibson (Nina Jo); sister, Lois Hampton (Rush); grandchildren, Noah, Seth, Aiden, Emmary and Gatlin; special friend, Mary Quarles along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Kenny will be on Tuesday, Aug. 20, from 4-8 p.m. CDT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tn.

A graveside service will be at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens, Jasper, Tennessee on Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 10 a.m. CDT.
