Pauline (Elizabeth) Duncan Edwards
Pauline (Elizabeth) Duncan Edwards passed away at Pleasant Valley in Dalton, Georgia, on Saturday, August 17, 2019.
She was born in Whitfield County, Ga. Most of her 85 years were spent in the Tunnel Hill. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Rocky Face.
In early years, her primary job was mothering her children. Later, she was employed by Gene’s Variety and Tunnel Hill Elementary School where she remained until retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James R. and Minnie Duncan; her husband, Hubert Edwards; five brothers, Winfred, Albert, Gene, Clarence, and Thomas Paul Duncan; one sister, Mossie McKeehan; and two sons-in-law, Mike Hammontree and Charles Bagby, III (Rod).
She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law Judy Hammontree and Janice Bagby of Rocky Face, Carolyn (Billy) Cantrell of Dalton; one sister, Frances Lynch of Ringgold; five grandchildren who call her Mam-maw including Amie (Chris) Beavers of LaFayette, Heather (CaLandon) Clay of Varnell, Keith (Joanna) Cantrell of Tunnel Hill, Lauren (Jake) Canada of Chickamauga, and Caitlin (Zack) LeQuire of Hixon; and brother-in-law, Carl (Margaret) Edwards. She had nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Ms. Edwards will be held Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 11 a.m. at the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Tac Coley and Shane Millard officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery
The family will receive friends at the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home on Tuesday, Aug. 20, from 5-8 p.m.
