Teen Shot In The Thigh In East Chattanooga; Wound Not Life-Threatening

A teen was shot in the leg in East Chattanooga on Sunday.

Police said he was hit in the thigh and the wound was not life-threatening.

At approximately 6:27 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a person shot in the 2500 block of O'Rear Street. Upon arrival, police located the boy, 17, suffering from a gunshot wound.
 
Hamilton County EMS responded and transported the victim to a local hospital with what they advised was a non life-threatening gunshot wound.
 
Police secured the scene and called for the CPD Violent Crimes Unit to respond.
 
Investigators spoke with the victim who advised he was walking down O'Rear Street when he heard gunshots.
He started running and then realized he had been shot. He advised he would not cooperate with investigators.
