  • Monday, August 5, 2019

Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, P.C. is expanding with the addition of four new team members to support the firm’s marketing and business development department, business practice, and litigation and risk management practice. The new team members are Paige Bureau, Jim Exum, Katelyn Jackson, and McKeehanon Rue.

"We are pleased to welcome our new team members who bring rich experience from diverse backgrounds," said Mike St. Charles, managing shareholder for Chambliss. "These talented individuals add depth to the firm's resources and will enhance our client service."

Ms. Bureau joins the firm’s marketing and business development team as marketing and business development specialist. She will assist with sponsorship and event coordination, content development, social media, digital marketing, and competitive intelligence. Her background in public and media relations, corporate communications, health care, and higher education, complement the team who works with over 60 attorneys in various practice areas.

As business development and marketing activities have significantly increased within the firm – and the legal industry in general – over the last few years, the department is pleased to now offer the firm and its clients additional capabilities in client service, practice development, and marketing on a local, regional, and national level. Ms. Bureau is a member of the Southeast Chapter of the Legal Marketing Association and a member of the Public Relations Society of America Lookout Chapter. She graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s in public relations and minors in business administration and information sciences.

Mr. Exum joins the firm’s litigation and risk management practice groups with an emphasis on government and municipal litigation and domestic law. With more than a decade of experience in litigation, Mr. Exum brings an impressive track record to Chambliss. His work on several high profile cases with the Tennessee Court of Appeals and other courts will greatly enhance the litigation section's services.

Mr. Exum holds a Municipal Technical Advisory Service certification, serves as the administrative hearing officer for multiple local municipalities, and represents a national police union working to protect the rights of first responders. He serves on the board for the Building Owners and Managers Association and the Signal Mountain Youth Baseball Association and is a member of the Defense Research Institute and Brock-Cooper Inns of Court. Mr. Exum graduated from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Ms. Jackson joins as a paralegal for the firm’s business practice group. She will assist the firm’s attorneys and clients with entity formations and dissolutions, stock redemptions, real estate transactions, and property research. Prior to Chambliss, she worked as a lease operations analyst, verifying clause language for commercial leasing. Ms. Jackson has experience in technical and creative writing and corporate bookkeeping. She holds a bachelor’s in English and a minor in business administration from the University of Tennessee.

Mr. Rue is a member of the firm’s business transactions practice group and focuses on health care compliance, nonprofit and tax-exempt entities, general business, and corporate matters. He is a member of the Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association and the Young Lawyers Division of the Chattanooga Bar Association. Mr. Rue graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee College of Law and graduatedmagna cum laude with a bachelor's in business administration with concentrations in management, finance, and human resources from Tennessee Wesleyan University.
