Amber Neal, 33, was killed in a head-on collision on Dayton Pike Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 4:50 p.m., HCSO traffic investigators responded to a serious accident near the 17000 block of Dayton Pike near the Hamilton/Rhea County line involving three vehicles.
According to the preliminary investigation, a vehicle travelling north on Dayton Pike crossed into the southbound lane and struck another vehicle head on which resulted in a fatality in the vehicle in the southbound lane.
The driver of the vehicle in the southbound lane, Ms. Neal, was pronounced deceased at the scene. An additional vehicle was then involved in the accident which was beside the vehicle struck in the southbound lane.
Two patients were transported to a local hospital and the deceased was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office. The extent of their injuries is not known at this time.
This traffic crash remains an active investigation.
