Authorities Believe Previous Fall Led To Death Of Chickamauga Boy

  • Friday, January 3, 2020

Authorities said an eight-year-old Chickamauga boy died from a previous fall and no foul play was involved.

Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson said an autopsy found that Bentley Robbins had hit his head on a rock after a fall from a bicycle. That happened a few days before he died on Oct. 3.

It is believed the fall caused a brain bleed.

Sheriff Wilson said the mother of the boy took him to an emergency room the day before he died, but for some reason left without seeing a doctor.

He had been outside playing with friends the day he was later found dead behind a shed.

Sheriff Wilson said the child's mother and boyfriend left the residence with another child to attend a sporting event. Bentley was left with the mother of the boyfriend. Sheriff Wilson said she took some children to the grocery, while not realizing that Bentley was not with them.
