The Notre Dame boys continued their season-long dominance in the Division II East Region Tournament on Thursday at Sparetime Lanes in Hixson. On the girls’ side of the bracket, GPS took gold medal honors with two convincing wins.

The Irish bowlers were led by the region’s top performer, CJ Petrin, en route to their semi-final and championships wins on the day. with a two match series of 1,380 (641,639).

In the Irish’s semi-final win over Boyd-Buchanan, 3122-2691 (22-5), Petrin rolled games of 234, 215, and 202, before delivering games of 231, 206, and 202 in the 3098-2933 (21-6) championship match over McCallie.

The Blue Tornado’s efforts were led by Jackson Gilliland (117, 130, 167-414) in their 2735-1815 (24-3) quarterfinal win over Skyuka Hall, while Jet Hieronymous came on strong in the loss to Notre Dame with a 631 series (247,199,185).

Arch rivals McCallie and Baylor met in a semifinal match after the Red raiders had earlier dispatched Knox catholic by a 2873-2109 (2502) count.

In their semifinal matchup, McCallie’s Hieronymous was too much for Red Raiders, bowling a 583 series (200, 204, 179) as the Tornado won by a score of 2837-2660 (16.5-10.5). Baylor was led by Dalton Chuba’s 560 (158, 190, 212).

Boyd-Buchanan was led by Riley Summrall’s 529 (199,155, 175) in the Bowling bucs’ 2713-2424 (22-5) quarterfinal win over Knox Webb. Walker Turnbow’s 423 (152, 142,129) was tops for Boyd-Buchanan in the semi-final loss to Notre Dame.

GPS fought heir way through a 2482-1871 (25-2) semifinal win over Knox catholic, before rolling their way to a 2682-2301 (23-4) win over Baylor in the championship.

The Bruisers’ Allie Foropoulos’ 534 (187, 169, 178) was tops in the win over Catholic.She came back in the championship match to roll a 539 (184, 172, 183) to cement the GPS win.

Bonnie hellerstedt topped the Lady red raiders with a 407 series (134, 151, 122) in the championship match.

In addition to the region winners and runnersup going to the state tournament January 23-25 in Smyrna, the region also qualified the following individuals for competition:
