Silverdale's Laney Bone Commits To Play Basketball For The University At Buffalo

Silverdale Baptist Academy’s Laney Bone has committed to play basketball for the University at Buffalo of the Mid America Conference. The Bulls went 19-12 last season, bowing out of the MAC post-season tournament in the second round.

Bone, a 6-1 wing/small forward averaged 21.4 points and 10.7 rebounds per game for the Seahawks last season earning her honors as a finalist for the Division II-A Miss Basketball in Tennessee. Among her other accolades were selections in the 2019-2020 season as Region and District Player of the Year, All-State, All District and a selection to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State team.

She was named as one of the Top 25 players in Tennessee her junior year, as well as being selected as All District and All region her junior year. ESPN Hoopgurlz named her a 3-star prospect for the Class of 2021 as a 10th grader.

Academically Bone has earned a 3.8 GPA as a Dean’s List and Honor Roll student at Silverdale and a selection to Who’s Who in Sports. During the 2019-2020 season she was named a Scholar of the Week by WDEF TV Sports.

She is the daughter of Tim and Melinda Bone.
