Mary Dupree

Mary Crabtree Dupree, RN, 103, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at Southern Heritage Assisted Living in East Ridge. 

She was born in Semmes, Al., on May 18, 1917.  Mary graduated as a registered nurse from Takoma Hospital in Greeneville, Tn., and was one of the first hires at Memorial Hospital spending the majority of her career as head nurse of the delivery room. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas T. Dupree.

Survivors include her son, Thomas T. Dupree, II; daughter, Mary Pat Carden (Gene Carden); grandsons, Lance, Ryan and Scott; great-grandson, Bryson Carden.

The family would like to thank the wonderful folks at Southern Heritage for their care and loving during her time there and the caring nurses at Amedisys Hospice.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Clair Sauer officiating.  Due to the National Health Crisis there will be no visitation.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, Tn.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to Jones Memorial United Methodist Church 4131 Ringgold Road, East Ridge, Tn. 37412.
