Autiyana Shantel Hester, 22, of Chattanooga, departed this earthly life on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 in a local hospital.  

She attended Orange Grove Center and graduated in the class of 2020.  Autiyana formerly attended Signal Center and Spring Creek Elementary Schools.  She was affectionately called “Ms. Auti” or “Ms. Diva”.  She was a member of Greater Pilgrim Baptist Church. 

Autiyana was preceded in death by her uncle, Darnell Watters, Sr. 

Survivors include her devoted caregiver and great-grandmother, Patricia (James) Thompson; mother, Dumonic (Radale) Davis; brothers, Tymetrius Coleman and Isaiah Hester; sisters, De’Asia Hester and My’Leah Davis; grandmother, Serena (Carl) Hester; grandfather, Kenny (Mary) Hughes; aunts, Dawn Brown, Shunta Scruggs, Sherry Jackson, and adopted aunt, Loretta Moore; cousins, Tekelia Watters, Charles Watters, Darnell Watters, Jr., Cyan Watters, Christian Geter, Zireon Watters, Destini Watters, and Sarai Smith; a host of other relatives and friends. 

Autiyana will lie in state on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. 

A family service will follow at noon in the chapel with Pastor Alexander Bullard, Sr. as the eulogist.  Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
