It is with great sadness that the family of Nick Harlen Ellis announces his passing at his home to be with the Lord on Saturday night, December 26, 2020, at the age of 65 years old.
Nick had recently rededicated his life to the Lord and was of the Church of God faith. Nick was employed at Cleveland Utilities and remained there until his retirement in 1992.
Nick will be remembered by the love of his life of 48 years, his wife, Beverly Howard Ellis. Nick and Beverly were married at the age of 16 and 17, and up until his recent hospitalization with COVID-19, had never been apart. Nick will be lovingly remembered by his son, Shawn Nicholas Ellis (Angie); his grandchildren, Mithcell Ellis (Mariah), of Athens, Lacey Nicole Workman (Kris), of Cleveland, Hailey Carnley, of Cleveland and Skylar Smith, of Cleveland. Nick will also be fondly remembered by his three great-grandchildren, Kynslee, Lexi and Elena Workman; two brothers, Ricky Ellis and Jeff Ellis; and his mother-in-law, Barbara Jones, of Cleveland.
A memorial service in memory of Nick will be held on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 7619 Blue Springs Road in Cleveland.
The family will be receiving friends from noon-2 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donation be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in honor of Nick Ellis.
