Mary E. Smith, 89, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on December 22, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Benjamin H. Smith; son, Robert P. Smith; parents, Paul and Jewel Ford; brothers, Paul H. Ford and Charles W. Ford.

Mary was a member of Tyner United Methodist Church and was a homemaker and raised three sons while supporting her husband of 60 years.
 
Mary is survived by her sons, Benjamin H. Smith Jr. of Ormond Beach, Fl.; William (Vivian) Smith of Pikeville; grandchildren, Carrie (Chris) Crowe of Chattanooga; Samantha Smith of Ormond Beach, Fl.; great-grandchildren, Jacob Lewis of Knoxville, Will Lewis of Knoxville, Luke Lewis of Chattanooga.

The family wishes to express our deepest gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Chattanooga and Grace Givers Homecare for all their love and support.
 
Due to the national health crisis, a private graveside service for the immediate family only will be held.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to Tyner United Methodist Church 6805 Standifer Gap Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 5401 Highway 153.
