Velva Mae Britt, age 89, of L. M. Thomas Road, Summerville, Georgia, formerly of Port Orange, Fl., passed away Thursday morning, February 13, 2020, in a local nursing home.
She was born in Virginia on July 2, 1930 to the late Noah Ebery and Hattie Lee Green Mills. Mrs. Britt was a retired office manager for Kmart Retail Sales and member of West Berryton Faith Temple.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammi L. Walker; sons, Robert K. Walker and William E. Walker; and brothers, Frank Mills, Albert Mills, Junior Mills.
Surviving are daughters, Joyce (Lewis) Bennett of Daytona Beach, Fl. and Susan (Bill) Durham of Summerville; daughter-in-law, Darla M. Walker of Greenville, Tn.; sister, Sibby Byrd of Basset, Va.; brother, Bobby (Nancy) Mills of Calloway, Va; 10 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 14, at 4 p.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. John Mann officiating. Interment will be in Saturday afternoon, Feb. 15, in Sunrise Baptist Church Cemetery in Bulls Gap, Tn.
