Friday, February 21, 2020
Chattanooga Football Club are thrilled to announce the signing of midfielder Ian McGrath from Crestwood, Illinois. The 23 year old most recently comes to the Scenic City from USL Championship’s Oklahoma City Energy, and before  that Philadelphia Fury (NISA) and Queen of the South (Scottish Championship). McGrath spent his college career with Evansville Purple Aces, where he amassed 26 goals in 71 appearances.

“I’m really excited to be a part of Chattanooga Football club” said McGrath.  “I’m looking forward to playing in front of this great city and its fans and helping the team be successful in its first professional year.”

The 6’4” box to box midfielder has impressed in every stop of his career, even earning a spot on the FC Buffalo all decade team, despite only playing one year with the club.
McGrath is known for a commanding presence in midfield, and his height enables him to dominate 50/50 balls and dictate possession.

“We are very fortunate to have Ian McGrath as part of our team” said Peter Fuller, Head Coach, Chattanooga FC. “He will help us in a number of ways, not the least of which is his size and ability in the air! He has great feet, is an excellent soccer player and will be a great asset to CFC!”

Supporters will get a first chance to see Ian in action on February 29th in Oakland, CA against Oakland Roots, and March 14th in Finley Stadium against Michigan Stars. Chattanooga FC’s NISA Spring schedule is out and is available on ChattanoogaFC.com. Annual passes are available now at ChattanoogaFC.com, and individual tickets go on sale February 24th.
