Gulf South Conference Cancel's Spring Competition and Championships

  • Monday, March 23, 2020
As the COVID-19 virus continues to impact the country, the Gulf South Conference has decided to officially cancel all athletic competition and championships in the 2020 spring season.

The decision officially brings a close to the 2020 Spring Seasons for Lee University’s baseball, softball, lacrosse, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s golf and men’s and women’s outdoor track programs.

Other countable athletic related activities are suspended through the end of May. Activities outside of those parameters are governed by the NCAA rules within each institution’s discretion.

Recent guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the NCAA’s requirements for waivers for affected student-athletes were significant factors in this decision by the league’s board of directors.
