Clyde Raymond Hartz, 86, of Dayton, Tn., passed away Friday evening, May 22, 2020, in the home of his daughter Stephanie Hartz in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee.

One of  children, Clyde was born on December 5, 1933 in Connellsville, Pa., the son of the late William and Josephine (Bartholomai) Hartz. He is survived by his two daughters, Stephanie M. Hartz of Soddy Daisy, and Valerie L. Hartz of Timonium, Md.

Clyde served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Anchorage Alaska during the Korean War. He received a degree from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1963 and practiced law in Maryland throughout his 50-year career. Clyde was a loving father with a gentle and generous spirit, often providing free services to the less fortunate. He will be dearly missed and forever cherished in the lives of his two daughters.

The family is being cared for by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton, where they will receive family and friends Wednesday afternoon, May 27, from 3-4 p.m. Funeral services with military honors will immediately follow at 4 p.m. with Reverend Mike Breeden and Dr. Whit Jones officiating. Interment will be on May 29, at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium, Md.
