Jerry Walker, 61, passed away on May 16, 2020, in the arms of his loving wife and family.
Jerry served in the Army National Guard 196 Field Artillery Brigade. He was a 1976 Howard High
school graduate, where he was a member and drummer of the Marching 100 Band.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, John Bethel Walker Sr., and Thelma Walker; and his siblings, Herman Freddrick, Doris Faye Walker and Virginia Forrest.
Jerry leaves to cherish his memories, his dedicated wife, Sylvia Durr, Walker of 20 years;
nieces who he raised, Tikedria, Mariyah, and Anika Rodgers; brothers, John (Rinabelle) Walker Jr., of Denver, Colorado; Larry (Ramona) Walker of Nashville; Gregory (Roslyn) Walker and Orlando Walker of Chattanooga; sisters, Gwendolyn Reynolds, Veronica and Cheryl Walker of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Monica Thomas of Cleveland; Kim A. (Johnny) Harper, of Jackson, Ms.; Jeanette (Charlie) Moore of San Diego, and Annette (Ed) Durr Loyd of Atlanta; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A special thanks to Jonathan “Jon” Rodgers (nephew) and Gregory “B.B.” Walker (brother) who helped care for Jerry throughout his illness. Thanks to the Durr and Walker families for their love and support. Thanks to the Howard High School Class of 1976 Bi-Centennial Class for the love and support you have shown. Thanks to Jerry’s friends for showing love and support.
