Harold “Gene” Eugene Hendrix
Harold “Gene” Eugene Hendrix, age 80, of Dalton, passed away Monday, June 1, 2020 at his daughter’s home in Augusta, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Eva Jean Scott Hendrix; sons, Jeffery Eugene Hendrix and Harold David Hendrix; daughter, Jana Angelyn Hendrix; parents, Norris Murray, Bertie Mae Shell Murray, and John Wesley Hendrix; and siblings, Mike Hendrix, Janet Hendrix, Linda Hendrix Harris.
He is survived by his daughter, Holly Hendrix Austin of Augusta, Ga.; sisters and brothers-in-law Faye and Ted Wells of Ringgold, Ga., Vickie and Bill Demers of Apison, Tn., Darlene Hendrix Hinds; brothers and sister-in-law, Robert Hendrix, Pete Hendrix, Douglas Murray, Randall and Patricia Murray; grandchildren, Grant Hendrix, Brittany Hendrix Martin, Connor Austin, Lindsay Austin; and great-grandchild, Briggs Martin.
The funeral service will be Friday, June 5, at 10 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral home, with Rev. Chris Branscomb, officiating.
The family will receive friends at Julian Peeples Funeral Home on Thursday, June 4, from 5-8 p.m.
Burial will be at Varnell Cemetery.
