Member Of Greater Beulah Baptist Church Loved To Cook Meals For Others

Ernestine Robinson, 82, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at Hospice Care Center.

She was a member of Greater Beulah Baptist Church. Granny G was a sweet woman who loved to cook and clean. She cooked meals and delivered them to family members. She loved to “feed the soul” of others.  Granny G was a religious woman who always shared the gospel with family, friends and even strangers.  She loved to play the piano. She even taught herself how to read music. She was a strong willed person who was not afraid of anything.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Mitchell; mother, Willie Lee Middlebrooks; husband, Jessie Robinson, Jr., son, Aaron Wayne Robinson; grandson, Langdon Arness Robinson; nephew, Wesley Hicks.

Left to cherish her memory are 6 children, Joyce Charlton Bane, Raymond Bane, Gary Bane of Armelia VA and Marilyn Millsap Robinson, Gwen Benton, Mickey Robinson; sisters, Johnnie Ruth Middlebrooks of Virginia and Juanita M. Parks; brother, Earl (Thelma) Mitchell; a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionally called her Granny G. She will be greatly missed by her special great granddaughter, NuQeilla “Nookie” Robinson.

A public viewing will be held 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, at the funeral home followed by a graveside service at Forest Hills Cemetery.
