CFL Partners With Vfl Wolfsburg For Special Webinar

Tuesday, July 7, 2020

Chattanooga FC is partnering with Vfl Wolfsburg for a special webinar detailing life as a Bundesliga academy player and what Academy coaches at the top level in Germany are looking for in their players. In their webinar titled “What It Takes”, Vfl Wolfsburg Academy will share stories from their Academy, insight as to what really is going through an Academy coach’s mind as they evaluate players, and advice on what young players can do to ensure they are becoming the best player that they can be.

This webinar will be presented by Vfl Academy staff, including main presenter Pablo Thiam, the Sporting Director of Vfl Wolfsburg’s Youth Academy.

Pablo and his staff have a passion not just for player development, but also for character development. “I want to help our talented youngsters with my experience and quite pragmatically show them the way to deal with the challenges that face them in their new surroundings,” he explained in a recent interview. Pablo and the Vfl Wolfsburg Academy staff do this by taking a holistic view of their Academy players and clearly explaining what expectations their Academy players should and shouldn’t have.

The “What It Takes” webinar will take place Thursday, July 23 at 10:00 EST. Peter Woolcock, Executive Director of Operation Get Active, part of the CFC Foundation, will serve as moderator. Attendees are asked to join the webinar fifteen minutes early to work through any technical issues. The webinar is intended as a learning and growing opportunity for players, coaches, and parents of the CFC Academy and Chattanooga FC Foundation. Members of the CFC Academy and CFC Foundation will be sent instructions on how to attend directly. For others interested in attending the “What It Takes Webinar”, please email info@chattanoogafc.com and instructions on how to attend will be sent.
