Donald Farlie Wilson (Don), 71, of Cleveland, passed away peacefully at home with his loved ones by his side on Monday, July 6, 2020. Don was born May 11, 1949, in Decatur. He was a graduate of Charleston High School and served in the United States Army. Don was a member of Beacon Missionary Baptist Church and was active in the music department as a guitarist. He was an avid music lover and shared that passion throughout his life. He was a gifted guitar player and lead singer for The Scissors Band.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Ollie Mae Wilson; brother, Haskel Wilson (Jim); and sisters, Catherine Richardson and Lena King.
He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Teresa Wilson; daughter, Valerie (Tom) Sullivan; sons, Brian Wilson, Jon (Heather) Wilson, Scott (DeAnna) Wilson, Calvin Fox and Johnny (Bonnie) Fox; special daughter, Jackie Loveday; grandchildren, Ella Kate, Sophie, Cullen, Callie Grace, Stonie, Mallie, Christian, Grace, Hope, Faith, Skyler, Shylee, Noajh, Vaslissa, Inessa, Trenton, Brian Jr., Quinton, Jasmine, Kamden and Connor; sisters, Betty Cameron and Lorene Davis; and several nieces, nephews and many special friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 9 at Beacon Missionary Baptist Church, and the service will begin at 7 p.m. Pastor Floyd Boggess and Tommy Leach will officiate the service.
