Chad E. Crisp, 43, of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 2, 2020, after a courageous cancer battle.  Chad is now fully healed and standing in the presence of his Lord and Savior.

Chad was born on Jan. 2, 1977. He graduated from Tennessee Temple High School in 1995, where he played basketball. He enjoyed lifelong friendships he made there.

Chad became a proud second-generation member of the Chattanooga Fire Department in 2000.  He loved his work, and was well known for his firehall antics that brought comic relief to a difficult job.

Chad is survived by his first love, his wife of 21 years, Leah.  They have two children, Austin Lake Crisp and Honey Elizabeth Crisp.  Chad proudly cheered from the sidelines at every practice, scrimmage, and game for both Lake and Honey.  He was their biggest supporter, encourager, mentor and friend.  Chad set an example of hard work and self-sacrifice for them to follow.  His life pointed them to Christ through his unshakeable faith.

Chad is also survived by his parents, Donnie and Regina Crisp and in-laws, Tom and Patricia Cheatham; brother Joseph (Jennifer) Crisp, sisters in law Karyn Heath and Beth (Matt) Paul, nephews Michael and Aiden Crisp and Heath and Hagen Schubert, nieces Katelynn and Gracie Crisp.  Additionally, he has been loved and supported by a large loving family of uncles, aunts, and cousins, as well as many friends and a brotherhood of firefighters.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Hamilton Funeral Home.

Attendees are requested to wear a mask.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Chad’s honor to the Chattanooga Fire Fighters Support Foundation.  Checks can be mailed or dropped off at 6216 Perimeter Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421. Venmo donations can be sent to @CFFSF.  The Chattanooga Fire Fighters Support Foundation is a local non-profit dedicated to providing care for Chattanooga’s firefighters and their families.

Attendees are requested to wear a mask.  Masks will be available for those who may need one.

Arrangements are by Hamilton Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson, 423 531-3975.
