Dave Ward
Dave Ward, 64, went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 4, 2020, after a valiant six-month battle against cancer. Dave passed at home with is loving wife by his side.
Dave was born and raised in Erie, Pa., where he worked at Hammermill Paper/International Paper Co. for 27 years as a machine operator. He had a passion for music and he and his wife owned DB Sound Co. in Erie, during the 1990s. After the closing of International Paper Co. in 2003 Dave returned to school and earned his degree in Electrical Maintenance. In 2009 he and his wife relocated to the Chattanooga area where Dave proudly served as a Walden Security officer for 10 years stationed at McKee Foods in Collegedale. After building a home in Ooltewah in 2011 Dave spent most of his free time landscaping and gardening and retired in March 2020. Dave loved deeply and took great pride in a hard day's work. He was affectionately referred to as the energizer bunny because he never quit.
Dave was preceded in death by his father, John R Ward; and his maternal & paternal grandparents.
He was survived by his wife of 42 years, Judy Ward; mother, Lois Ward; sister, Darlene Ward; brother, Daniel Ward; niece and God daughter, Jackie Ward; niece, Rachel Ward, and his cherished in-law family.
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Tony Walliser officiating.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Aug. 10, from 6-8 p.m. and again on Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 11-12 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
