Kinnett, Loretta (Cleveland)

Loretta Kinnett, 90, of Cleveland, passed away on September 11, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 27, 1930 in Cincinnati, Oh. to the late Patton and Nora Mills.

Loretta worked in management in the hotel industry for more than 50 years. Her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with them more than anything in the world. Loretta attended Mt. Olive Ministries.

In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Kinnett Jr.; sister, Irene Ettinger; nephew, Ron Huff; and niece, Lori Carroll Collins.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters, Melanie Shepherd (Greg) and Stephanie Tatum; sisters, Mildred Daniel, of Cincinnati and Pat Carroll, of Ft. Myers, Fl.; grandchildren, Eric Shepherd (Laurie Anne), Emilee Tipton (Tucker), Kyle Tatum (Courtney) and Colby Tatum; and great-grandchildren, Drew Poteet, Liam Shepherd, Shiloh Shepherd and Harper Tipton. In addition to these, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at Mt. Olive Ministries on Harrison Pike. A celebration of Loretta’s life will be held at 1 p.m. at the church, with Pastor Gary Sears officiating. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Eric Shepherd, Colby Tatum, Kyle Tatum, Don Daniel, Todd Carroll and Marc Collins serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mt. Olive Ministries or Lee Association for Remarkable Citizens (LARC), in memory of Loretta and her niece, Lori.
