Irene Lominac Carnes, 87, of Hixson, died on September 16, 2020. 

Irene was born on Aug. 25, 1933, the daughter of the late Paul Fleming and Mary Priscilla (Davis) Lominac.  She was a graduate of Andrews, NC High School and later married her husband James in 1954 in York County, SC.  She was a long distance phone operator, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was of the Methodist faith who loved to read, go deep sea fishing and was passionate about the Atlanta Braves.

Irene is survived by: husband, James Wesley Carnes, daughter, Deborah Susan (Dale) Hutsell, son, Michael Bryan Carnes, grandchildren, Staci Renee Hutsell Cannon, Michelle Denise Carnes Vice, Neal Patrick Hutsell, Bryan Paul Carnes, numerous great-grandchildren as well as a host of extended family and dear friends. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Lane Funeral Home.
