Planning Commission Supports 72-Unit Apartment Complex In Sale Creek

  • Monday, January 11, 2021

The Planning Commission on Monday voted to recommend approval for a 72-unit apartment complex in Sale Creek.

It is planned on 16 acres at Detour Road at U.S. 27.

Alan Jones of Asa Engineers said the development will include its own septic system.

He said it will be affordable workforce housing.

A couple of speakers were in opposition, saying it would hurt property values.

Jeff Patton said he was concerned that effluent from the septic system would make its way into nearby Rock Creek.

Jason Farmer, of the planning panel, said he believes there will be more apartment complexes coming in that section of the county - especially since the county is considering a large new industrial park there.

Warren McEwen is the owner of the property.
