Richard Saywell
Richard Milton Saywell, 60, of Harrison, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at his home.
He loved his family, friends, and telling stories.
He was an avid whitewater kayaker, and on the weekends you could find him kayaking down his favorite river the Ocoee.
As part of his many adventures he successfully kayaked over Tahquamenon Falls three times in the fall of 2000.
Richard served his country proudly during the Gulf War/Operation Desert Storm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Richard Allen and Betty Saywell.
He is survived by his daughter; Sarah (Greg) Hansen, two sisters; Sonja Saywell, and Stephanie Saywell, one half-brother; Shawn Hash, one step-brother; Ray Johnson, and his step-mother; Eve Saywell. He is also survived by two granddaughters; Annabella Hansen, and Rylie Hansen, two nieces; Korie Davies, and Casey Hanson, as well as three nephews; Chris Martin, Travis Martin, and Richard Saywell.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Services will be announced and held at a later date.
