JoAnn Messer, age 87, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Messer was born in Cleveland, Tn. and she was the daughter of the late Jessie Goodner Wells and Lonas Wells. Her son, James Daniel Messer; grandson, Johnathon Earl Messer; infant great-granddaughter; and brothers, Jerry, Robert, Jimmy and Tom Wells also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Messer worked for 10 years with Rex Chain Belt in Downers Grove, Il. and she retired from Bendix Corporation here in Cleveland after more than 29 years of service. She loved working in her vegetable garden and canning what she grew. Mrs. Messer attended the Baptist church.
Survivors include her son, Johnny Messer; daughter, Nancy Messer both of Cleveland; grandchildren, Joshua Messer, Holly Latham and her husband Jeff and Ryan Messer; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The Remembrance of Life Graveside Service will be conducted on Sunday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Fort Hill Cemetery with Reverend Jim Hibbard officiating. Family and friends will serve as casket bearers.
The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
