A group of about 20 veterans gathered Sunday Monday and Tuesday for fun, food, fellowship, friendship and a managed deer Wounded Warrior hunt at the former Volunteer Army Ammunition Plant.
Volunteers from TWRA, Highland Sportsman’s Club, Safari Club International local chapter and a host of others from Cleveland State College, Volkswagen and Hamilton County Parks participated to give back to these American Heroes and provide a safe and productive deer hunting trip.
Twenty hunters harvested 11 deer with two being trophy quality bucks.
The warriors came from as far away as Indiana and West Tennessee to participate in this drawn hunt.
Army veteran Jacob won Big Buck for the hunt with a 9 point 163 pound monster, cleanly shot with a borrowed Muzzleloader at about 125 yards.
"Many great friendships were forged during the time in the blinds and bragging rights were exclaimed proudly," said Carter Parham. "Thanks to all who helped out."
